Pat Augustine is a good example of what hard work, guts and perseverance can accomplish. He started wrestling when he was in the 8th grade and attained one of the best wrestling records in Geneva High history. Pat enlisted in the Marines after high school where he continued to wrestle. In 1953 he won the Southeastern AAU 130 lb. title.

After serving in the Marines Pat went on to Oswego State SUNY where he was a star wrestler for four years and was nationally recognized in his weight class. He was twice named the outstanding wrestler at Oswego. He finished fourth in the Greco-Roman Wrestling of the National AAU wrestling championships of 1956 and qualified for the Olympic trials. Pat coached high school wrestling for eight years and has been a NCAA/College Wrestling Official for over 30 years. Pat was awarded the Medal of Courage Award in 2007 by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
