An outstanding track and field coach, Mike guided Geneva High to nine Section V Championships over a period of sixteen years. He had seven outdoor and two indoor sectional championships. He also won eleven league championships and had a due meet record of 131-29 in sixteen years of coaching boys track and an eight year record of 63-18 in girls track. He was named Finger Lakes League Coach of the year five times. Mike coached over 200 individual Section V track champions, 50 individual State Track Meet participants and one state champion. Many of his athletes went on to collegiate careers in football and track. Several followed in his footsteps and have gone on to coach in high school and college.
Mike graduated from Brockport State where he was captain of the football team. He also coached football at Geneva High and served as an assistant football coach at Hobart College. Mike retired from Newark High School where he served as Director of Athletics.
