A 1938 graduate of Geneva High, Eddie was an aggressive lacrosse player with exceptional speed. He possessed a unique ability to fight his way to the goal and score. He was captain of the 1938 championship lacrosse team that was undefeated and outscored its opponents 101 to 31. Although Eddie set league records that year with a single game total of 13 goals, he was a true team player often passing off when he could have scored. He was the Central New York League’s high scorer in both 1937 and 1938.
Eddie was voted “Athlete of the Year his senior year and Coach Jim Loman said he was one of the better athletes he ever coached. Eddie was an outstanding running back on the football team and member of the famous 880 yard relay team that set a Section V track record that lasted 23 years. After high school, he played professional box lacrosse for Geneva, Rochester, and Niagara Falls.
