A 1919 graduate of Geneva High, Wilson was one of the era’s finest athletes and a true Renaissance Man. Wilson entered Hobart College where he earned thirteen varsity letters in four sports. He was captain of both the football and lacrosse teams and was named to the nation’s first All-American Lacrosse Squad. Noted for his Olympic speed, he was named a first-team running back on the 1921 New York State All-College Team.
After Hobart he attended and graduated from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. While there he was instrumental in getting the school to adopt lacrosse as an intercollegiate sport. He was a Rhodes Scholar candidate and was also awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for this heroism in World War II. He was inducted into the Hobart Hall of Fame in 1993.
