Ron Johnson was a fine all around, 3 sport athlete at Geneva High earning 3 varsity letters in baseball, 3 in football and 2 in basketball. Ron was a starting quarterback on the GHS football team, serving as captain his senior year. He was a 2nd team all-league member his senior season. In basketball, he was a point guard and was instrumental in leading the panthers to the league championship during the 1968-69 season.

Ron was the 2nd baseman on the NYS Babe Ruth championship team in 1966. He was one of the premier baseball players in the Finger Lakes during his 3-year varsity career at Geneva High. As a fine defensive shortstop, potent hitter, and team captain, Ron led GHS to league titles in 1969 and 1970. He was voted to the all-league teams his junior and senior years. Ron continued his athletic career at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, playing Freshman football, Freshman basketball, and became a 4-year letter winner in baseball as a shortstop. His senior year he was a tri-captain while batting .404.

Ron resides in Jacksonville, FL where he played softball for many years. He and his wife Jeanne have two sons.
