Bing Rogers attended Geneva High School and played four years on the football team. He played varsity three years and received the “Most Valuable Player” trophy his junior and senior years. Bing played guard or tackle and was very powerful with hands like a vice and very fast afoot. Bing played semi-pro football for local teams from 1918 to 1920 and helped coach the Geneva High team in 1918 and 1919.

From 1921 through 1926 he played for one of the best semi-pro teams in the state. The Binghamton Tigers were undefeated for two years in a row while he played guard and tackle positions for them. He was paid $50 a game, a lot in those days. From 1926 to 1930 he played for the best semi-pro teams in Rochester the Oxfords and the Jeffersons. He then continued to play for local teams until 1933. Bing started giving the “Rogers Trophy” to the most valuable Geneva High football player in 1923. Bing was very civic minded and served as Mayor of Geneva for three terms.
