
Mike Simon

During his 41 years of service in public schools Mike Simon has worn many hats and during that span he has served as a teacher, coach, principal, assistant superintendent, and Athletic Director. While Mike has coached a variety of varsity boys and girls sports throughout his career, his largest footprint has been on the game of lacrosse. Mike was the 1994 Finger Lakes Lacrosse Coach of the Year and a five time Section Five Lacrosse Man of the Year winner. Currently, Mike is the Section Five Lacrosse Committee Chairman and has served as a member on that committee for the past 24 years. He was the Executive Director of the New York State Coaches Association for 5 years and a Central Committee member for 20 years. Mike also served as the Executive Director of the New York State Coaches Association from 2004-2014. In 2005 he won the Distinguished Service in Athletics Award from New York State and the Section Five Athletic Directors Service Award. In 2009, Mike was inducted into the US Lacrosse Greater Rochester Chapter Hall of Fame and in 2011 the New York State Public High School Athletic Association awarded Mike the Service Recognition Award for 20 years of service.
Mike is a former Geneva High School Principal and Assistant Superintendent and the current Director of Physical Education and Athletic Director for the Clyde-Savannah School District. Additionally, Mike has served as the President of the Geneva Sports Hall of Fame for the past 12 years.
