Sarah’s remarkable softball career at Geneva High saw her lead the Panthers to the state championship in 1999. Sarah threw 23 no-hitters, nine perfect games including twice pitching back-to-back perfect games! She finished with a 74-10 record, with an ERA of .52, with 890 strikeouts and only 49 walks. She was selected 1st-team all-state her junior and senior years. She also led the Panthers to two sectional crowns and was the tournament MVP both years. Sarah graduated in 2000 as the Valedictorian of her class.

Sarah continued her brilliant career at Cornell University where she helped lead the Big Red to two Ivy League titles and two trips to the College World Series. She was a three-time All-Ivy League selection and was a Louisville Slugger-TPS All-American. She set four school records. In the College World Series her senior year, Sarah was the winning pitcher in the first NCAA softball tournament win for an Ivy League school when Cornell defeated #18 ranked Long Beach State. She finished her career at Cornell with a 79-29 record and a career ERA of 1.55. Sarah was inducted into the Cornell University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016
