A 1984 graduate of Geneva High School, Trena was a Finger Lakes 1st Team selection all four Years. She was named to the Times Union Super 15 Team and a Rochester Democrat & Chronicle All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention selection her junior and senior years well leading the league in scoring. She also lettered in volleyball and was named team MVP her sophomore, junior and senior years. She was selected in the Section V All-Tournament Team in softball her junior year.

Trena went on to distinguish herself at William Smith and was named A Division III All-American her senior year. She was named to the All-Greater Rochester 1st Team her junior and senior years after being named to the 2nd her first two year. Trena was also the All-Greater Rochester Rookie of the year in 1985. She was a three-time ECAC Upstate All-Star and was named team MVP all three years. She is currently the head girl’s basketball coach at McDonough High School in Maryland.
