Caroline was named the Outstanding Female Athlete her senior year after finishing a career highlighted by eleven varsity letters. On the soccer pitch she was a two-time Finger Lakes League Player of the Year, a two-time 1st-team all-star and was named to the All-Greater Rochester second team twice. She was a three-time team MVP and helped lead Geneva High to a 10-7-3 record, one of the program’s best marks, and a second place league finish her senior year. She scored 55 goals and 22 assists over her career and once scored six goals in a game.
Caroline earned six letters in track and was a three-time sectional champion winning the Class B 400 hurdles twice and the 100 hurdles once. In the 2001 NYS Championships she finished in sixth-place in the 100m hurdles and in eighth-place in the 400m hurdles. Caroline won nine league championships and was first-team all-league in nine different events. She still holds the school record in the Pentathlon with 2579 points. She was a three-time winner of the Mark Salvatore Pitifer Award and in her senior year was awarded the Leon Hill-Bob Jones Memorial Award from the Wayne-Finger Lakes Track and Field Officials which is given to the outstanding female athlete in the league. Caroline was a second-team all-league selection in basketball her senior year and was also named the team Most Improved Player as well.
Caroline went on to William Smith College where she played on the soccer team for four years. The team had an overall record of 62-15-9 and one NCAA final four appearance. She was awarded the Melissa Mulliken ’80 Award for participation, leadership, and off-field endeavors that supported the advancement of athletics at William Smith. She served as president of both the William Smith and the Liberty League student-athlete advisory councils. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from William Smith and masters in international studies degree from St. John Fisher. Caroline teaches social studies at Canandaigua Middle School, is the assistant varsity soccer and modified track and field coach. She is also a member of the Heron Society board of directors. Caroline’s father, Carl, was inducted into both the Geneva and the St. John Fisher Sports Halls of Fame in 2006.
